

I don't know of any way to unlock it for use with other carriers. (It also does Wi-Fi, natch.) If you want service, you'll have to get it through AT&T. Second, this is one of the few tablets of any stripe to offer a 4G LTE connectivity option. The 1,280x800 screen in Amazon's current Fire HD 8 can't hold a candle to it. First, there's the 8.9-inch, 1,920x1,080-pixel IPS screen - as gorgeous as they come. Obviously tablets have become a commodity since then, but the Fire HD 8.9 offers a few key benefits. It's also hard to believe it once sold for $399. It's hard to believe this model is four years old. I'd say for the extra $10, doubling your storage is a no-brainer. That's for the 32GB model it's also available with 64GB for $79.99.
